Vulcanized Fibre and Fishpaper incorporate a high percentage of recycled materials. In particular, the cotton fibres used in a predominance of the Fishpapers and Abrasive Fibre grades, as well as in Commercial Grade, are pre-consumer waste fabric materials and their conversion to Vulcanized Fibre saves millions of pound of material from entering the waste stream annually.

Today, many corporations have implemented an environmental policy regarding the products the supply and manufacture. Hokuetsu Toyo Fibre has anticipated and responded to environmental concerns.
